● INTRO
Before the camera rolls, we spend most of our time in the writing room. Because a great frame always starts with one honest sentence.
We build films not to satisfy a brief document — but to leave a single impression that holds three months after broadcast. That is why the commercial we made for BMW Indonesia does not feel like a commercial. It feels like a short documentary about someone finally going home.
We work in two primary modes: slow-tempo brand films with three-act structure, and short 15–60 second commercials that still have room to breathe. Both get the same discipline — considered lens choice, color grading consistent with brand identity, and sound designed in layers, not music tacked on at the end.
Good production is not made from the most expensive gear. It is made from decisions taken in pre-production and held all the way to the final grade.
A good commercial is a documentary cut shorter — start from truth, never from the script.
● PROCESS
How we work.
STEP 01
Brief & Discovery
A workshop with the brand team to find the core of the story. We leave with one positioning sentence that becomes the compass for the entire production.
STEP 02
Pre-Production
Treatment, storyboard, shotlist, casting, location scouting, and technical recce. We make sure every shot has a reason before shoot day.
STEP 03
Production
Shoot on location or in studio with a full crew — DOP, gaffer, sound recordist, art department. A calm, structured set.
STEP 04
Post & Delivery
Offline edit, log-workflow color grading, sound design, and multi-format delivery (master, broadcast, digital, social cuts).

BMW Indonesia — Driver Story
We were asked to build a short film that celebrated not the car, but the person driving it. Four shoot days across Jakarta and Bandung, two nights of time-lapse, and one monologue we rewrote five times. The result: a 90-second brand film used for the regional launch event.

Xpeng Indonesia — Sunrise Spot
The opening frame was shot at sunrise in Nusa Dua. Horizontal light became the visual signal for an electric car that "wakes up earlier" than the competition. The 30-second spot ran across all Xpeng digital channels for the market entry phase.

01How long from brief to final master?
For a standard commercial, 4–6 weeks. Cinematic brand films, 6–10 weeks. We always start with a timeline conversation before quoting.
02Does Mooilux write its own concept and script?
Yes. Every film we make starts from a treatment and script written by our creative team — unless the brand arrives with an agency partner.
03What camera format do you typically use?
Default: Sony FX6 and FX3 for flexibility. For productions that need anamorphic or film aesthetic, we rent the ARRI Alexa Mini and cine lens sets.
04Can the result run on national TV?
Yes. Our masters are delivered in ProRes 422 HQ broadcast-ready format, with audio loudness LUFS matching Indonesian TV standards.
05How does the revision system work?
Three rounds of revision are included — one at offline edit, one at online, one at final grade. Anything beyond is scoped separately.
06Can we hire only for post-production?
Yes. We accept offline edit, color grading, or sound design as standalone services. Reach out for details.
